Miserable? Bored? You must be rich.

By Helen Kirwan-Taylor, Daily Telegraph

For some people, flying first class represents the height of luxury. But not Prince Alwaleed bin Talal of Saudi Arabia, who has become the first person to buy an Airbus A380 superjumbo to use as a private jet.

"For the super-rich, houses, yachts, cars and planes are like new toys that they play with for five minutes and then lose interest in," says psychoanalyst Manfred Kets de Vries, one of the new breed of therapists treating the very rich. "Pretty soon, to attain the same buzz they have to spend more money. All the spending is a mad attempt to cover up boredom and depression."

"Giving to others, helping others, and dedicating your life to a heavenly cause, like we do, not only makes you happy; it also brings peace, purpose, fulfillment, satisfaction, and a whole host of good things—true wealth!

The real riches are those of the Spirit, and they're gained when you're giving to others in some way. The more you give away—in unselfish love and care, concern and prayer, and especially in salvation and eternal life—the richer you become in the ways that count.

That's why real dedicated Christians have always been incredibly wealthy, spiritually, while often being considered poor physically. "As poor, yet making many rich; as having nothing, and yet possessing all things" (2Cor.6:10). The world just judges by the wrong standard when it comes to wealth!

Everyone needs Jesus."
